Loulette Bride x Columbia College Chicago
Old Hollywood for the Modern Bride
For my senior capstone project, we had the unique opportunity to work with Loulette Bride to design and prototype 2 looks for their brand.
I worked in a group of nine others to research recent bridal trends and present 10 designs for the designer, Marteal Mayer, to choose from. We decided to move forward with a collection of separates that can each be paired together in a vareity of ways since recent market trends indicated an interest in brides wanting to customize their looks or have the option of swapping an element out to better suit their needs.
We worked on patternmaking and prototying a delicate pearl embellished corset, a dramatic ceremony skirt, a bubble skirt or trousers for a more relaxed party look, complete with the option to add a bolero.
The Audrey Bubble Skirt was selected by Marteal to be added to their collection!
Resurrection : an adaptive design project for Jessica Jordan Ping
in collaboration with Prof. Reyes Witt
I worked on the flat sketches, technical drawings, 3D rendering, design details as well as patternmaking of the garment.
This was a really fun project creating a dress for Jessica Jordan Ping, inspired by her song Resurrection.
I worked in a team of 4 to upcycle old jackets, bags, pants etc that they deemed were not fit for sale as a part of their Wornwear program at their store location in the West Loop of Chicago.
We were intentional about our selection and decided on a color palette before we got to pick our items, and made sure to get garments with as many zippers as possible to make our adjustable flare pants come to life.
I worked on the design and patternmaking, cutting for the pants. We had to be creative with how we seam ripped and placed our pattern pieces to use up as much fabric as possible. The top was made with a lining from a jacket and some drawstrings we had leftover by my teammate Ronni Hull.
We competed against 6 other groups in our class and my team won!
